| Three of these hybrid herons were found on the Olifants River near Papendorp in the Western Cape on 25 January 2004 and videoed a few days later by Ian Sinclair. It is not certain of their origin, but a Grey X Black-headed Heron hybrid has been the most common suggestion. |
